Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

When you register your interest in the Christian Growth Plan, we may collect:

• your first and last name
• your email address
• your response to the optional question about what would help you grow most right now
• your email communication preferences
• information about when and where you registered or updated your preferences

If you choose to create a My Study account, we collect your email address and the study information you choose to save, including highlights, notes, study-stage progress, recent studies and the location needed to let you pick up where you left off. Study work remains on your device unless you choose to create an account and sync it.

Your growth-interest response and My Study content may reveal information about your Christian faith, beliefs or spiritual interests. We treat this information with additional care.

We do not currently collect detailed pastoral, counselling or prayer-request information through the Christian Growth Plan registration form. Please do not use My Study to record confidential information about another person without their permission.

2. Why we collect this information

We collect personal information so that we can:

• respond to your interest in the Christian Growth Plan
• understand the needs and interests of people engaging with CGP
• develop resources that are relevant and useful
• communicate with you where you have chosen to receive updates
• maintain accurate records of communication consent and preferences
• provide My Study account authentication, private saving, cross-device sync, progress and resume features
• administer, secure, improve and develop Christian Growth Plan services

We aim to collect only information reasonably necessary for these purposes. We do not use My Study notes, highlights or progress for marketing, spiritual scoring or automated judgments about your relationship with God.

3. Optional growth-interest information

The question:

"What would help you grow most right now?"

is optional.

You do not need to answer it in order to register your interest.

If you choose to answer, we use your response to understand what kinds of resources may be most helpful to people engaging with CGP and, where appropriate, to help us provide resources relevant to your stated interests.

We do not use this response to assign you a spiritual maturity score, rank your faith, or make automated judgments about your relationship with God.

4. Email communications

We will only add you to Christian Growth Plan email updates where you actively choose to receive them.

The email-consent checkbox is optional and is not selected by default.

If you subscribe, we may send you occasional Christian Growth Plan news, resources and related information.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in an email or by contacting us directly.

Choosing not to receive emails does not prevent you from registering your interest in the Christian Growth Plan.

5. Consent records

Where you choose to receive email communications, we may retain records of:

• when consent was given
• how consent was given
• the wording you agreed to
• when consent was later withdrawn

This helps us maintain accurate communication preferences and demonstrate that email consent was given appropriately.

Withdrawing email consent does not necessarily require us to delete the historical record that consent was previously given.

6. How we store and protect information

Christian Growth Plan uses reputable technology providers to store and process information securely.

Our CGP People contact database and My Study service use Supabase database and authentication infrastructure. My Study data is kept in separate tables from CGP People contact records and is not displayed in CGP People.

My Study uses row-level access controls so that a signed-in user can access only records linked to their own account. Administrative or service-provider access is restricted to authorised people and should occur only where reasonably necessary for security, support, legal compliance or system administration.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, misuse, loss or alteration.

Privileged database credentials are not intended to be exposed through the public Christian Growth Plan website.

No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to reduce risk and protect the information entrusted to us.

7. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information.

We may use trusted service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Christian Growth Plan, including providers of:

• database and hosting services
• website infrastructure
• email delivery
• authentication
• technical support and development services

These providers may process personal information only as required to provide relevant services.

We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.

8. Overseas processing

Some technology providers used by Christian Growth Plan may store or process information outside Australia.

Where we use third-party providers, we seek to use established services with appropriate privacy and security safeguards.

As Christian Growth Plan systems develop, this policy may be updated to provide further information about relevant providers or processing locations where appropriate.

9. Access and correction

You may ask us to:

• confirm whether we hold personal information about you
• provide a copy of personal information we hold about you
• correct information that is inaccurate or out of date

We may need to verify your identity before providing or changing personal information.

10. Deletion

You may ask us to delete personal information we hold about you, including your My Study account and synced study data, by using the contact details below.

Where appropriate, we will delete relevant personal information from Christian Growth Plan systems, subject to information we reasonably need or are required to retain. Deleting synced data does not automatically remove a copy that remains in your browser or device storage.

If you have previously unsubscribed from email communications, limited information may need to remain in an email suppression system or similar record so that you are not inadvertently resubscribed.

11. Data retention

We aim to retain personal information only for as long as it remains reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required for legitimate administrative, legal, security or consent-record purposes.

Information that is no longer reasonably required may be deleted or de-identified where appropriate.

12. Cookies, local storage, analytics and website activity

The Christian Growth Plan website may use basic technical cookies or similar technologies necessary for website operation. My Study uses browser storage to preserve study work before sign-up, keep a user signed in and support offline or app-like operation.

If analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking technologies are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated to explain what information is collected and how it is used.

We do not currently use the registration form or My Study to create detailed behavioural or spiritual profiles of website visitors.

13. My Study and future CGP services

My Study currently provides optional accounts, private study saving, study-stage progress and cross-device continuity. Creating an account is optional; you may continue studying without one and keep work locally on that device.

Christian Growth Plan may later introduce services such as resource libraries, broader learning progress or Christian Growth Plan module participation.

If those services collect additional personal information, this Privacy Policy and any relevant collection notices will be updated before that information is collected.

Information collected for future services will remain limited to what is reasonably necessary to provide and administer those services.

14. Changes to this policy

Christian Growth Plan may update this Privacy Policy as our services, systems or legal obligations develop.

The current version will be published on this website and will display the date it was last updated.

Where a change materially affects how previously collected information is handled, we should take reasonable steps to communicate that change where appropriate.
